Member of the Center for Latin American Studies, PhD Candidate from the Department of English, and Folger Shakespeare Fellow, Javiera Barrientos, has been awarded as the Bibliographical Society of America's D.F. McKenzie New Scholar. She will present, online and in person, her research “Literary Landfills. Bibliographic Waste and its Representations” , where she examines the circulation, uses and representations of bibliographic waste found in viceregal vellum limp-bindings held at the Biblioteca Patrimonial Recoleta Dominica of Chile. The online version will be this Friday January 17th (register here) and the in person version will be during Bibliography Week and in the BSA’s Annual Meeting January 24th in New York City.
